5 Key Items Your Facebook Page MUST Have

Here’s the second part of my series on must haves of your Facebook page.    The earlier post of key items is here if you want to review it.    These are mostly structural in nature, rather than content based.

5. Create “Static FBML” boxes and tabs to place lengthy content and more static links on your Page.  Static FBML can do great things to help you attract listeners and activity to your page.  If you want to see some solid work on FMBL pages, click here, here, and here.

4. Use the “Info” tab to include more important keywords, text, and high priority links on your Page.  What is the “keyword” you want to own?  When a listener types your name or the keyword you want in the URL bar, do they get you?  Most info tabs are horribly unattended.

3. Use the “About” text box to place keyword-dense prose near the top of your Page.  Again, what keyword do you want?  Is it country music?  Is it your name?  Use this box to better your SEO to your Facebook page and in turn to your brand.

2. Select the best URL (Facebook username) for your Facebook Page.  You want your brand name here.  Maybe its Cat Country 98-7 for example.  Once you have 25 fans, you can grab the vanity URL that fits you.

1. Choose the best name for your Facebook Page – and don’t change it.  You only get one shot at this.  Or you start over.

Facebook is one of a series of ways to acquire more traffic.  Use it correctly, and you’ll reap the benefits.
